REHASPLINT
BY DENTRADE

THE NEW PLEASANT TMD SPLINT:

The temporary dental splint is used for immediate relaxation of the chewing muscles. The splint in the one-size-fits-all can be used immediately and helps with the temporary relief of TMD complaints. Due to the different hardnesses (≈ 40, 50 and 60 Shore A), adjustments to different physiological conditions are possible.

  • anatomically optimized fit for average jaw sizes

  • free from BPA, latex and plasticizer

  • immediate help for TMD patients

  • compensation of occlusal early contacts

  • designed for severe bruxism

  • therapy of pain with muscular tension of the masticatory system

REHASPLINT AS DIAGNOSTIC TOOL:

If the patient suffers from typical symptoms of TMD

(Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction) also called myoarthropathy, the RehaSplint can be used as an initial diagnostic tool.

If the patient feels a significant relief of the symptoms after wearing a RehaSplint for a short period of time (24 h), a neuromuscular cause is assumed.

Occlusal interference is a possible etiological factor for a myoarthropathy. Every restoration, extraction, prosthetic restoration as well as orthodontic treatments always change the occlusion in statics and dynamics. Even the smallest occlusal interference in the μm range is perceived as disturbing via the proprioreceptive information of the stomatognathic system. This results in adaptation mechanisms that can lead to a functional overload of the craniomandibular system.

The soft bite pads of the RehaSplint compensate disturbing early contacts. Adapted postures are quickly resolved and the patient adopts aneuromuscular and comfortable position.
